Fenella J. Flanagan is a litigator who combines substantial Oklahoma criminal law experience with appellate clerkships at both the Eleventh Circuit and D.C. Court of Appeals. Before joining the firm, Fenella served as an Assistant Public Defender at the Tulsa County Public Defender’s Office. Fenella defended many individuals charged with serious felony offenses, including achieving a not-guilty verdict at jury trial for a client facing life in prison on assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. She also secured an appellate win before the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals, persuading the court that it lacked jurisdiction to consider the state’s appeal of a favorable trial court ruling.

Previously, Fenella served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joshua Deahl of the D.C. Court of Appeals, and the Honorable Stanley Marcus of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Fenella is a graduate of Harvard Law School, where she served as Notes Editor on the Harvard Law Review and won the 2021 Ames Moot Court Competition alongside her team. While at law school, she performed over 1,000 hours of pro bono service, earning formal recognition for her service to the community.
